German titleholders VfL Wolfsburg have signed Algerian international Karim Ziani from Olympique de Marseille for an undisclosed fee.

Good fit
A long-term admirer of the 26-year-old midfielder, new Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh finally got his man as Ziani committed until summer 2013 after passing his medical. "I am delighted," said the former VfB Stuttgart boss. "He fits well with our team and will help us achieve our goals." Those ambitions include the UEFA Champions League which Wolfsburg will enter in the group stage, and French-born Ziani admitted he was relishing the challenge. He will wear the No15 shirt at his new club.
