The 30-year-old Brazilian has penned a one-year deal with the UEFA Champions League hopefuls, although no details of the transfer fee have been released, and will provide back-up to French international Steve Mandanda. "I needed three goalkeepers," said coach Didier Deschamps, "We have Steve Mandanda, as No1, and Rudy Riou but we needed another. Elinton is someone with a great deal of experience. He was a regular in Bucharest and does not fear pressure. He will need time to adapt but already speaks several languages."
