Sevilla double act No1 for Zokora

Didier Zokora told uefa.com that his Sevilla FC team-mates Frédéric Kanouté and Luis Fabiano were "the two best strikers in Spain at the moment" after a 4-1 UEFA Champions League win at Scottish champions Rangers FC.

Unlucky number
The visitors' front pairing helped themselves to a goal apiece as four strikes in a devastating 24-minute period handed the Ibrox side their heaviest home European defeat in nearly 14 years and left them bottom of Group G. Coincidentally, 24 is also the number of years Rangers have been waiting for a victory against Spanish opposition, and for Zokora the outcome of the game was never in doubt once Abdoulay Konko headed in the opener five minutes after the interval.

Deadly duo
"After the first goal, the game changed," the former Tottenham Hotspur FC midfielder told uefa.com. "The goal gave us a lot of confidence and encouraged us to go and score more. For me, Kanouté and Fabiano are the two best strikers in Spain at the moment because every game they score goals and create opportunities for others."

Inspired pairing
Kanouté was also full of praise for Fabiano who provided assists for the Malian international and Brazilian compatriot Adriano. Speaking to uefa.com, Kanouté acknowledged the understanding between the strike partners has been instrumental in Sevilla's early season form and hoped their goalscoring would continue for the weekend Liga visit of Real Madrid CF.

Madrid momentum
"Our partnership works well at the moment both in the Liga and the Champions League, so we are happy because we are scoring goals and influencing games," the 32-year-old Kanouté said. "Hopefully, we can now take that form into the game against Real Madrid. It will be a tough game but hopefully we can win and move up to second in the league."

Concentration lapses
For Rangers it was a disappointing night and while substitute Nacho Novo struck a late consolation, Madjid Bougherra conceded that second-half lapses had cost them the game. The defender told uefa.com: "We needed to concentrate for 90 minutes and you saw how quickly the game slipped away from us when we lost the first goal. We were a bit sloppy at the start of the second half, conceded two quick goals and after that the morale went down a bit."

Home points
Having scored the goal that earned Walter Smith's side an away point at VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 1, Bougherra knows that Rangers must now win their two remaining home fixtures to bolster their hopes of reaching the knockout stages. "We have two games still to come against the Romanians [FC Unirea Urziceni] and Stuttgart, so if we win those it should be OK for the next round."
