Celta next for slick Slavia

SK Slavia Praha 2-0 FK Leotar (Agg: 4-1) Slavia dominate tie and now meet RC Celta de Vigo.

SK Slavia Praha beat FK Leotar 2-0 in the Czech Republic to complete a comfortable 4-1 aggregate UEFA Champions League second qualifying round victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina's finest.

Došek close
Having wrested control of the tie in the first leg in Trebinje, Slavia wasted little time in indicating that they would exploit their home advantage to establish a meeting with Spain's RC Celta de Vigo for a place in the group stage. Tomáš Došek twice went close to scoring in a first half in which the Czech side finally increased their aggregate lead in the 42nd minute.

Kuka scores
Slavia's 35-year-old captain Pavel Kuka, who had earlier gone close, was the man on target, unleashing a tremendous shot which flew in under the crossbar. Slavia thought they had done enough to wrap up the tie before half-time, only to see a second goal scrubbed out for offside.

Excellent saves
Leotar began the second half playing counterattacking football, but Slavia remained dominant and visiting goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic was kept busy, making a number of excellent saves. Adauto Da Silva saw an effort go just past the post for the home side with an instinctive shot, but a second goal was inevitable.

Victory confirmed
It arrived on 73 minutes, as Rudolf Skacel converted after a fine pass from Da Silva. Slavia, runners-up in last season's Czech top flight and flying high this term with two wins from two games, remained on top as they saw the game out to move through. They will look for more of the same next Tuesday, when they host the first leg of their tie against Celta.
