Luque strike does it for Depor

Deportivo 1-0 Rosenborg BK (Agg: 1-0) Alberto Luque's first-half goal fires Depor through.

RC Deportivo La Coruña reached the UEFA Champions League for the fourth year running with a 1-0 win on the night and on aggregate against Rosenborg BK - who will be absent from the group stage for the first time since 1994/95.

Luque goal
After a goalless first leg in Norway, both sides were determined to break the deadlock in Spain, with the home side on top in the early stages. With 16 minutes gone they made their breakthrough as Alberto Luque set off on a mazy run before slotting the ball past visiting goalkeeper Espen Johnsen.

Match delayed
Rosenborg, who knew an away goal would swing matters significantly in their favour, pressed forward, while Deportivo also remained lively, other than for a several-minute delay when a seagull landed on the pitch.

Johnsen saves
Víctor tested Johnsen from distance midway through the half and not long before the break the Rosenborg keeper pulled off a fine save to frustrate Juan Valerón.

Rosenborg chance
The visitors were the more industrious team after the interval as they sought to progress in their first European campaign since the retirement of stalwart coach Nils Arne Eggen. Frode Johsen had their best chance on 64 minutes as he rose to head on goal, only for José Molina to save.

Deportivo through
After that Deportivo began to blunt Rosenborg's attacks and as the final whistle went the home team could contemplate their place in Thursday's group stage draw, while Åge Hareide's side prepare instead for a UEFA Cup campaign beginning in the first round.
