Castrol has signed as an official sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012™, becoming the second global partner after adidas to commit to the final tournament hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

Castrol has signed as an official sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012™ – becoming the second global partner for the final round in Poland and Ukraine in two years' time.
Continuing for 2012
UEFA and Castrol said on Thursday that their partnership, which started in Austria and Switzerland for UEFA EURO 2008™, would continue at the 2012 tournament. The Castrol deal follows the previous announcement of an agreement with adidas.
Castrol used its UEFA EURO 2008 sponsorship to launch and pioneer the Castrol Index and subsequently the Castrol Rankings, innovative ways of objectively measuring and ranking player performance. They were developed using exclusive data and with the advice of football experts. These programmes will remain key pillars of Castrol's approach to the UEFA EURO 2012 agreement. "Our investment in football has proved a tremendous success and allowed Castrol to add value to our business partners, [it has] excited and rewarded fans, and [it has] motivated our staff," said the company's senior vice-president Mike Johnson.
Vote of confidence
"The commitment of Castrol to sponsor UEFA EURO 2012 is a further vote of confidence in the tournament ahead of the qualifying draw in Warsaw on 7 February," said David Taylor, chief executive of UEFA Events, a wholly owned subsidiary of UEFA created recently to manage and handle UEFA's commercial and event operations. "Castrol has proven to be an innovative partner for UEFA and European football, and we are delighted that this mutually beneficial relationship is set to continue." Further global sponsorship agreements are expected imminently.
