Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has equalled David Healy's scoring record for a single UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign.
Lewandowski struck his 13th goal of qualifying on Sunday with a brilliant header to put Poland 2-1 up against the Republic of Ireland in Warsaw, securing the victory that booked a finals place.
The Bayern München attacker is enjoying a sensational spell, registering 15 times in his last six games for club and country. That run started with five in ten minutes in a Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg on 22 September. In all Lewandowski has played 14 competitive games this season and scored 22 goals.
Healy's 13 goals came in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2008, a tournament Northern Ireland ultimately missed out on. However, his nation secured a debut place at next summer's finals on Thursday.
