UEFA is delighted to announce that SNCF has joined the team of sponsors supporting UEFA EURO 2016 as the tournament's official national transport partner.

This partnership represents confirmation of SNCF's ongoing backing for and commitment to major sports events in France – a commitment that spans the transport of both passengers and freight.

SNCF will be there for fans before, during and after their journeys next summer, both in stations and across the rail network.

SNCF is one of the world's leading transport groups. As a key contributor to mobility and sustainable development in Europe and a major player in the transport of passengers and freight, the group will use its extensive rail network and logistical know-how to make supporters' journeys smoother and easier as they travel around France.

Guillaume Pepy, chairman of SNCF, said: "EURO 2016 in France will be an extraordinary festival of football, and SNCF is delighted to have this opportunity to play a full role in the event and make a major contribution to the tournament. The whole group will show what it can do.

"We will mobilise our entire team of 200,000 railway workers and partners – on every train, in every station, and at every industrial or commercial site. We are all looking forward to welcoming foreign guests and French supporters, serving them in any way we can."

Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS, said: "It is a great pleasure to announce this partnership with SNCF. SNCF's experience in transporting passengers and its various initiatives and commitments in the field of sport make it a natural complement to EURO 2016's values of excellence and unity."

SNCF is the tournament's fourth official national sponsor – alongside FDJ, PROMAN and Crédit Agricole. UEFA is currently in discussions with various other French companies with a view to appointing the tournament's last two national partners.
