Votes totalled 107,790: a record for a UEFA 'name the mascot' poll and more than ten times the amount that helped name the 2012 mascots. The name was revealed to the public on TF1's Telefoot programme on Sunday morning after the voting period ended at midnight on 26 November.
The mascot had been unveiled on 18 November at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille prior to France's friendly against Sweden, with the public vote starting on the same day. Find out more about the mascot.
Just under 24,000 people living in France have taken part in the competition to win a visit from the mascot for their football club. The winner will contacted and announced by 14 December.
The name Super Victor is based on the idea of victory and references the boy's super powers that he gained when he found the magic cape, boots and ball. The newly named mascot will journey around France, making a series of appearances for UEFA and its partners between now and the finals, which start on 10 June 2016 – find out more by following him on Twitter @SuperVictor.
