Key figures

With less than 600 days to go before UEFA EURO 2016 in France, here are some key figures to help better understand the impact of the tournament on European football and France in particular.

4 – The number of new stadiums that will host matches at UEFA EURO 2016: Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille and Stade de Nice are already complete; Grand Stade de Lyon and Stade de Bordeaux will be finished in 2015.

10 – The number of host cities for the tournament: Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Étienne and Toulouse.

10 – The number of global sponsors benefitting from rights that cover the majority of UEFA national team competitions. So far, contracts have been concluded with seven of these: adidas, Carlsberg, Coca-Cola, Continental, Hyundai/Kia, McDonalds and SOCAR.
 
Six national partners will also enjoy sponsorship rights for UEFA EURO 2016. To date, one such contract has been signed, with FDJ – La Française des Jeux, the French national lottery.

24 – The number of teams that will take part in the UEFA EURO 2016 – the first time the field will be this large. This means that almost half of the 54 UEFA member associations will be involved in the final tournament.

31 – The number of days the tournament will run – from 10 June to 10 July 2016.

51 – The number of matches that will be played in the tournament.

66 – The number of team base camps selected by EURO 2016 SAS for the competing teams to choose from. The selection is available for consultation on a specific website: https://teambasecampseuro2016.uefa.ch/team-base-camps.

650 – The number of people who will be employed by EURO 2016 SAS to work on the organisation of the tournament in 2016.

6,000 – The number of volunteers who will be recruited by the French Football Federation to welcome visitors to the tournament venues.

100,000 – The number of hospitality packages on sale for the tournament, divided into two levels: gold and platinum. The packages will offer companies wishing to take advantage of the UEFA EURO 2016 hospitality programme offers adapted to their targets and their needs, starting from €900 per package.

2.5 million – the number of spectators expected in stadiums, of which 1 million are anticipated to come from abroad.
