The first-ever official UEFA European Championship-branded plane has taken its maiden flight to Paris, with Turkish Airlines going the extra mile as Official Airline Partner of UEFA EURO 2016.

The A330-300 passenger aircraft, bearing the official branding of this summer's finals in France, will fly to selected destinations across the Turkish Airlines' network in the months ahead, with plane spotters and football fans encouraged to track its progress on social media using the hashtag #eurointhesky.

"We are very excited to see our first-ever airline partner's plans truly taking off," said UEFA Events SA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein. "It will be fantastic to see the plane travelling across Europe, and bringing fans together to celebrate the best in European football, as we approach the kick-off of UEFA EURO 2016 on 10 June."

"We are privileged to be able to connect people from across the globe every day, and are delighted to be part of this year's EUROs," added Turkish Airlines' chief marketing officer Ahmet Olmuştur. "This plane is one of the many things we will be doing to excite fans and our passengers in the lead up to this competition."

Turkish Airlines will also be presenting a series of ticket giveaway competitions, unique UEFA EURO 2016 airport experiences for passengers, and a series of Fan Zones throughout the host cities.
