Turkey's Mehmet Topal answers your questions

Did you have a favourite player when you were a child?

Mehmet Topal: When I was a child, I liked [Zinédine] Zidane and [Patrick] Vieira a lot. I would definitely admire them both a lot.

Who is the best player in the world now? 

Absolutely, Messi and Ronaldo.

I would like to ask about young Emre Mor. He is an important talent. How would you describe him?

Emre has made it much faster than I expected. I didn’t think that he could adapt so quickly and easily. He has adapted to the team very well, both with his playing style and his good attitude off the pitch. He is a very talented brother to us. He will be at the service of the Turkish national team for many long years. I wish him the best. I hope we can have great successes together.

In tournaments, motivation is also very important. In this squad, who do you think is the player that has humour and motivates the team?

In fact, everybody does their best to motivate one another by making jokes. But Arda is always at the forefront because he is the captain of the team and he has an outgoing personality.

If you weren't a footballer, what would you have liked to be?

Well, I have never thought about it! I did everything to be a footballer. I never thought in any other way.

What kind of a feeling is that: playing in the national team with Fatih Terim?

It's both very hard and very easy at the same time, because coach Fatih has been successful for a long time. But he wants more success. Playing together with him has always been enjoyable and a great honour for me. If you work with him, there will always be success.

As a last question, is there a song played in the team bus which you all love?

My team-mates always want songs. Everybody wants a different song, but there is a song we have been listening to called Günah Benim (by Eypio and Burak King). This song motivates the team.
