Nedved checks in for Czechs

The Czech Republic are at full strength for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Moldova on 11 June.

Nedved back
Juventus FC midfield player Pavel Nedved, who is suspended for Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan, returns to the squad after being rested for the 4-0 friendly victory against Turkey last month. Also back in the fold is AFC Ajax midfield player Tomáš Galásek who sat out the match for the same reason.

Still unbeaten
Czech coach Karel Brückner, who has not seen his side lose in 14 successive games since taking charge in January 2002, has named 18 players for the fixture in Olomouc, which will be their fifth in Group 3. The Czechs top the section with ten points, while Moldova have nothing to show for their first four games.

No Jarosík
The midfield player Jirí Jarosík from PFC CSKA Moskva was omitted again despite a run of impressive goalscoring form in the Russian top flight. Reggina Calcio defender Martin Jiránek was also left out. There is still a place, though, for TSV 1860 München’s Roman Týce despite a lack of international experience.

Czech squad
Eech, Blažek, Bolf, Grygera, Hübschman, Jankulovski, Ujfaluši, Týce, Galásek, Gedeon, Nedved, Poborský, Rosický, Šmicer, Baroš, Koller, Lokvenc, Štajner.
