Slovakia will face Turkey next Saturday in their opening EURO 2004™ Group 7 qualifier without their top striker Szilárd Nemeth of Middlesbrough FC who injured his hamstring last week in a friendly against the Czech Republic.
Regulars dropped
Coach Ladislav Jurkemik has also dropped midfield regulars Roman Kratochvil and Milan Timko after the team's poor performance in the 4-1 defeat by the Czechs.
Trio added
Martin Poljovka, Zdeno Strba and West Ham United FC's Vladimír Labant have been added to the squad for the Istanbul match against Turkey, who recently reached the FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
