Article body
Jaap Stam is set to return to international duty against Spain next week after a four-month drugs ban.
Rotterdam friendly
The S.S. Lazio centre-back was suspended from football worldwide after testing positive for nandrolone following a Serie A match against Atalanta BC on 13 October 2001. He has been brought back by national coach Dick Advocaat in the 19-man Dutch squad named today for the 27 March friendly at Feyenoord's Feijenoord stadium in Rotterdam.
Surprise call up
Five other players, including PSV Eindhoven's veteran goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus, are also back in the reckoning after missing last month's clash with England.
'Outstanding form'
Advocaat said: "After van der Sar, he's (Waterreus) my man for the second spot. Five weeks ago he picked up an injury and couldn't play against England. I've selected him for the outstanding form he has been in at PSV." Feyenoord captain Paul Bosvelt, PSV's Kevin Hofland and Wilfried Bouma and Arthur Numan of Rangers FC are also back in the reckoning.
