In front of a 15,000 crowd in the traditional capital, Kazakhstan went ahead through Oleg Litvinenko on 38 minutes after good work from Aidar Kumisbekov. Estonia's reply was immediate, however, Meelis Rooba volleying in Joel Lindpere's cross two minutes later.
New entry
Kazakhstan were admitted as UEFA's 52nd member association at the XXVI Ordinary UEFA Congress in Stockholm in April. The former Soviet Republic had requested entry to Europe's governing body after leaving the Asian confederation last year.
Estonia get ready
Estonia used the game as a warm-up for the EURO 2004™ qualifying campaign which pits them against Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria and Croatia in Group 8.
