De Cock suspended
Doll has replaced the suspended Olivier De Cock and for the RSC Anderlecht full-back it marks his first involvement in the international set-up since his one and only appearance for Belgium against Turkey in April 1997. He is unlikely to play in the Group 8 meeting on 10 September, with Eric Deflandre earmarked for the right-back role.
Third in the group
Belgium are third in the section, level on ten points with Croatia and a point behind leaders Bulgaria but have played a game more than both sides.
