Iceland lose services of Sverrisson

Eyjólfur Sverrisson will miss Iceland's remaining UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers as he considers retirement.

Hertha farewell
Defender Sverrisson, who has 66 caps, made his farewell appearance for Hertha BSC Berlin last week in a friendly against former club Besiktas JK. He turns 35 on Sunday and has already announced he does not wish to be considered for the upcoming Group 5 qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Germany.
