The Azzurri progressed to UEFA EURO 2004™ by winning qualifying Group 9 and Trapattoni is keen to assess new talent between now and next summer's departure for Portugal. AS Roma forward Cassano, 21, and Parma AC winger Marchionni, 23, are the first players to profit, having been in sparkling form in Serie A this season.
Juve trio missing
Regular goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is absent along with Juventus FC colleagues Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Del Piero, while AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi is also rested after recently recovering from injury. Italy will be in action next Sunday too, against Romania in Ancona.
