Action taken after crowd trouble

UEFA has fined the Italian Football Federation for a serious lack of security against Wales in September.

Welsh proceedings
European football's governing body said in a statement on Friday that the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body had also decided to open disciplinary proceedings against the Football Association of Wales for the improper conduct of Welsh supporters at the match, which Italy won 4-0 to go top of qualifying Group 9.

Racist conduct
In other cases, UEFA has fined the associations of Bosnia-Herzegovina, F.Y.R. Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro for the racist conduct of their supporters at EURO 2004™ qualifying matches.

Racist chants
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation was fined €19,400 after supporters made racist chants against a Norway player during the Group 2 match between the two teams at the Bilino Polje stadium in Zenica on 6 September, which Bosnia-Herzegovina won 1-0.

Flag-burning
The Macedonian Football Union was fined €16,200 for the burning of an English national flag, as well as for racist chants directed by F.Y.R. Macedonia supporters at several England players during the Group 7 encounter in Skopje on 6 September, which England won 2-1. The F.A. of Serbia and Montenegro also received a €16,200 fine for the racist chanting of fans during both the European Under-21 Championship and UEFA EURO 2004™ matches against Wales in Belgrade on 19 and 20 August respectively.

No previous records
"In reaching the three above-mentioned decisions, the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body took into account the fact that none of these associations had previous records of racist behaviour," UEFA said.
