Serbia and Montenegro coach Dejan Savicevic has named his squad to face Germany on 30 April in Bremen.
Quartet rested
Savicevic has chosen to rest Real Sociedad striker Darko Kovacevic, S.S. Lazio's Sinisa Mihajlovic and Dejan Stankovic and R. Standard de Liège captain Ivica Dragutinovic. "They have played so many matches in the last three weeks and a better solution for them is to stay with their clubs," Savicevic said.
New players
Three new players have been handed call-ups: FK Zeleznik midfield player Jovan Markoski, RSC Anderlecht striker Nenad Jestrovic and FK Partizan forward Ivica Iliev.
'A real test'
"Germany were second in the last [FIFA] World Cup and they are a real test for us," Savicevic said. "They are a strong team and I want to see what my players can do against them. I hope that we have a chance to play well." Savicevic will use the match to prepare for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier in Finland on 7 June.
Group situation
Serbia and Montenegro are currently third in EURO 2004™ Group 9 with five points from three games. They trail leaders Wales by seven points and second-placed Italy by two points but have played a game less than both their rivals.
