New-look squad for Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan coach Leonid Pakhomov has named a 25-man squad for the friendly international against Poland.

Unexpected recall
As he continues preparations for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2006 qualifying campaign, Pakhomov has chosen to experiment with his squad. Alongside first-choice goalkeeper Yuri Novikov of FC Irtysh Pavlodar, and young reserve Aleksandr Mokin, Pakhomov has called up the experienced 31-year-old Oleg Voskoboinikov.

Experienced goalkeeper
The FK Aktobe Lento keeper last played for his country in the 5-2 away defeat by the United Arab Emirates in December 2000. Voskoboinikov is the second most-capped player in Kazakh history with 24 international caps, four behind FC Dinamo Moskva midfield player Ruslan Baltiyev who is also included.

International debuts
FC Shinnik Yaroslavl defender Renat Dubinski and midfield player Vitali Ibramov from FC Volgar-Gazprom Astrakhan are set to make their debuts having received international clearance, while there could be first caps for three promising youngsters.

Young talent
Kairat Nurdauletov, Irtysh's 20-year-old who was voted the best midfield player in the Kazakh Super League last year, 22-year-old Pavel Pishulin and the league's current top scorer, FC Shakhtyor Karaganda forward Andrei Finonchenko, may all get a chance to impress.

Notable returns
Alibek Buleshev, Rinat Abdulin, Konstantin Kotov and Andrei Bogomolov also return to the group after periods of absence. The squad will gather for a training camp in the Russian city of Bronnitsy in the build-up to the match.
