Simonsen turns to Mannon

Luxembourg coach Allan Simonsen has given Paul Mannon a first call-up for the friendly against Hungary.

Luxembourg national coach Allan Simonsen has given Paul Mannon a first senior call-up in an 18-man squad for the friendly against Hungary next Wednesday in Budapest.

Second Division call-up
Mannon, an under-21 international, plays for Luxembourg Second Division club US BC 01 Berdorf-Consdorf. However, the injured Marcel Christoph and Claudio da Luz miss out, as do youngsters Gilles Engeldinger and Claude Reiter who have school obligations.

Cardoni returns
Playmaker Manuel Cardoni, who missed the two last UEFA EURO 2004 ™ qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Norway, is back in the squad, though. Luxembourg have lost all four of their Group 2 matches, and their next fixture is at home to Denmark on 11 June.

Luxembourg squad
Besic, Gillet, Federspiel, Hoffmann, Peters, Posing, Schauls, Cardoni, Di Domenico, Lassine, Leweck, Mannon, Molitor, Remy, Schneider, Strasser, Braun, Huss.
