Thurre trouble for Switzerland

Switzerland striker Léonard Thurre is doubtful for UEFA EURO 2004™ after picking up a calf injury in training.

Switzerland have suffered another setback ahead of the finals of UEFA EURO 2004™ after striker Léonard Thurre suffered an injury in training on Sunday.

Calf problem
The Servette FC striker limped out of training with an injury to his right calf muscle just hours after VfB Stuttgart forward Marco Streller broke his leg in a practice match. Thurre will not play in the forthcoming friendlies against fellow EURO 2004™ finalists Germany on Wednesday or Liechtenstein on 6 June.

Intensive treatment
However, he is expected to remain with the party until at least Wednesday, and will undergo intensive treatment from the team's medical staff in an attempt to cure the injury. Coach Jakob Kuhn will name his final squad after the match with the Germans in Basel.
