Schedule confirmed
The Portuguese Football Federation has confirmed the national team's schedule before they kick off EURO 2004™ on 12 June against Greece. It includes matches against Luxembourg in Águeda and Lithuania in Setúbal.
Squad announcement
Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will name his 23-man squad on 18 May, and two days later his players will convene at a hotel near Lisbon where their fitness will be assessed. Although the Portuguese domestic season ends this weekend with the cup final, Scolari will not have all 23 players at this stage.
Joining later
FC Porto's Deco, Nuno Valente, Paulo Ferreira, Costinha and Ricardo Carvalho will be with their club until after the UEFA Champions League final on 26 May. Paris Saint-Germain FC's Pauleta will join up after the French Cup final on 29 May.
Training camp
On 22 May, the squad will travel to their training camp in Óbidos in central Portugal. They will play a friendly against Luxembourg on 29 May at Águeda's Municipal Stadium - the national team's first appearance in that city.
Setúbal test
Then, on 2 June, the party will transfer to the Academia de Alcochete, Sporting Clube de Portugal's training centre outside Lisbon and the squad's base for the duration of EURO 2004™. Three days later, on 5 June, Scolari's side will play their final warm-up match against Lithuania at the Bonfim stadium in Setúbal.
