The 43-year-old, who is assistant to Rangers FC manager Alex McLeish, turned down an initial approach of a full-time job from the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) but changed his mind after a contract was offered covering this summer's tournament in Portugal.
European champion
The KNVB reportedly approached Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten and Johan Neeskens before returning with their new offer to Wouters, a member of the 1988 UEFA European Championship-winning team.
Coaching team
Coach Dick Advocaat will be assisted by Wouters, Willem van Hanegem, Bert van Lingen and goalkeeping coach Joop Hiele in Portugal, where the Dutch will compete in Group D.
