UEFA EURO 2008™ co-hosts Austria have announced that they will take on the Czech Republic in a friendly game on 22 August.

Competitive edge
Josef Hickersberger has been keen to set up tough games for his side to give them a competitive edge for the finals next summer, setting up games against the Netherlands, Scotland and Ghana before the final round. It is not yet known where the Czech match will be staged. Austria will also be involved in a four-team mini-tournament in September this year.

Mini-tournament plans
Co-hosts Austria and Switzerland will be joined by two other yet-to-be-named sides for the tournament. Austria will play their first game on 7 September at the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, with Switzerland playing at Vienna's Ernst-Happel-Stadion on the same day. The two teams will switch venues for their second game of the tournament four days later.
