Ecuador 1-1 Sweden
Two defeats
Lars Lagerbäck's men had been eager for a positive result having already lost 2-0 to Venezuela on 14 January before going down 2-1 to Ecuador in their first meeting on Thursday. After a good first half that saw Anders Svensson twice go close from free-kicks, Sweden stepped up a gear after the interval. The breakthrough came in the 69th minute when Rade Prica's neat pass set up Nannskog to score.
'Pleased'
Ecuador refused to lie down though and Edmundo Zura headed an 82nd-minute equaliser. Despite the fact Sweden, who only had players from Scandinavia at their disposal, were unable to claim a victory in any of their three tour games, Lagerbäck was content. "We hadn't begun well in our first two games," he said. "This time we managed to get off to a good start with a high tempo. We didn't quite last the full 90 minutes, but playing here in Ecuador is always difficult and I'm very pleased with our display."
