Veteran Marek Lemsalu has been called up to bolster Estonia's weakened defence for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers against Russia and Israel.
Out of retirement
The 34-year-old centre-back announced his international retirement three years ago but coach Jelle Goes has been impressed by his form for FC Levadia Tallinn and has asked him to return, with Raio Piiroja suspended for the first game and Enar Jääger injured. Left-back Urmas Rooba of Vejle BK and FC Flora forwards Kristen Viikmäe and Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko also miss the cut through injury. Estonia play Russia in Tallinn on 24 March and Israel in Tel-Aviv four days later.
