Nikolaos Lyberopoulos has returned to the Greece squad after a seven-month absence for their opening UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Moldova in Chisinau on 2 September.

Experienced striker
The AEK Athens FC forward has not played for the European champions since a 1-1 friendly draw against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on 25 January. Seeking experience, coach Otto Rehhagel has chosen the 31-year-old over Manchester City FC's Georgios Samaras and VfL Bochum 1848's Theofanis Gekas. Meanwhile, Giourkas Seitaridis has returned to fitness after missing the 4-0 friendly defeat in England and replaces Nikolaos Georgeas, while there is no call-up for Skoda Xanthi FC defender Paraskevas Antzas.
