Jamaica 0-2 Switzerland
Switzerland ended a run of three straight friendly defeats - against Brazil, Austria and Germany - as Gökhan Inler scored on his debut in a win against Jamaica in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Swiss dominant
With Alexander Frei playing his first game as Switzerland captain, following Johann Vogel's exclusion from the squad after a disagreement with coach Jakob Kuhn, the UEFA EURO 2008™ hosts dominated.
Quick impact
FC Zürich's Inler, 22, made an impact seven minutes into his introduction to international football, crossing from the left for VfB Stuttgart's Marco Streller to open the scoring. A corner five minutes later allowed Switzerland to double their advantage with Inler finding the net with a volley from Tranquillo Barnetta's corner.
Colombia next
Frei hit the post with a shot from inside the area moments before the interval, but the second half against Bora Milutinović's youthful Jamaica proved largely uneventful. Switzerland's tour of the United States continues with another friendly, against Colombia in the Orange Bowl in Miami, on Sunday.
