Neville out of England qualifiers

Manchester United FC defender Gary Neville is expected to miss England's upcoming UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers after picking up an ankle injury.

Manchester United FC defender Gary Neville is expected to miss England's upcoming UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers after injuring his ankle during today's 4-1 victory against Bolton Wanderers FC.

Ferguson verdict
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said Neville had suffered ligament damage and could be sidelined for up to three weeks, which would rule him out of England's qualifiers against Israel and Andorra. "It's ligament damage and he'll be out for three weeks, I feel," Sir Allex said. "It's a blow there's no question about that."

Roma doubt
Neville went over on his ankle in the opening minutes of United's victory against Bolton and had to be replaced by Wes Brown. The injury also makes the club captain a doubt for United's UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg trip to AS Roma on 4 April.
