Morocco give France testing workout

France 2-2 Morocco Les Bleus geared up for Wednesday's crucial qualifier with an invigorating friendly draw at Stade de France.

France 2-2 Morocco

Late drama
The visitors got off to a dream start as Tarik Sektioui broke the deadlock on eight minutes, yet Les Bleus were soon back on level terms when goalkeeper Nadir Lamyaghri miscued his clearance and Samir Nasri fed Sidney Govou to equalise. Nasri completed the turnaround on 74 minutes but there was still time for Morocco to earn a deserved share of the spoils with six minutes remaining when Youssef Mokhtari converted Soufian Alloudi's fine right-wing cross.

Landreau fumble
A draw in Kiev on Wednesday will also be enough for France but they will hope for a brighter start then they endured in Paris. Just eight minutes had gone when Mickaël Landreau failed to hold on to a long-range Youssouf Hadji strike and FC Porto's Sektioui, who scored a memorable UEFA Champions League goal against Olympique de Marseille ten days ago, pounced to fire in.

'Good preparation'
Six minutes later Govou levelled matters, though France did not have things all their own way as Morocco dictated play. Eric Abidal and Jérémy Toulalan entered the fray before another substitute, Nicolas Anelka, made a telling impact as his astute header fell to Nasri who fired in from outside the area to make the score 2-1. Mokhtari earned the visitors a draw late on but France coach Raymond Domenech was grateful for the "good preparation".
