Article body
Kevin Mirallas has been rewarded for his fine performances at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with a promotion to the senior squad for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Serbia on 22 August.
Renard hopeful
The 19-year-old LOSC Lille Métropole forward scored two goals in the tournament in the Netherlands in June, impressing with his power and finishing ability before Belgium lost their semi-final to Serbia. The R. Standard de Liège goalkeeper Olivier Renard, 28, also hopes to win a first cap in Brussels, while fit-again defender Vincent Kompany is selected for the first time since October after appearing for Hamburger SV in their opening Bundesliga game of the season.
Dembélé back
Moussa Dembélé returns from suspension, but Marouane Fellaini sits out the match for the same reason as Belgium chase the win that would move them on to ten points in Group A, where they are a lowly fifth after eight qualifiers. Serbia, on 14 points from seven outings, are in joint-second place.
