Cautious approach
The 28-year-old striker, who has scored eight goals in 24 league appearances this term, was injured in training midway through last month but was expected to be fit for the Bianconeri's final two matches. However, the Turin club have now confirmed that Iaquinta will not play again this campaign and have informed the national team medical staff of his situation.
Donadoni decision
Scans at the start of the week suggested Iaquinta was on the road to recovery, before Juventus chose not to risk playing him "given the delicacy of muscular injuries". Now Italy coach Roberto Donadoni must decide whether or not to call him up for the tournament in Austria and Switzerland. Iaquinta, with 23 caps and one goal for Italy, was part of the squad that lifted the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
