Janczyk called up
The only uncapped played on Beenhakker's list is the 20-year-old PFC CSKA Moskva forward Dawid Janczyk, who scored three goals at both the 2006 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Although he has yet to make his debut, he has previously been in squads to face Saudi Arabia in March 2006 and the United States last month and is one of four strikers named. Janczyk was chosen along with Marek Saganowski, Artur Wichniarek and Łukasz Piszczek, after Beenhakker overlooked the claims of Grzegorz Rasiak, Ireneusz Jeleń and Paweł Brożek.
Schedule
The squad will be cut to 25 at the start of next month and the final selection will then follow during the training camp in Donaueschingen, Germany on 28 May, in the immediate aftermath of friendlies on the previous two days against F.Y.R. Macedonia and Albania. Poland will play Denmark in Chorzow on 1 June before beginning their Group B campaign a week later against Germany, with fixtures against EURO co-hosts Austria and Croatia to follow.
