Pospěch to miss EURO opener

Zdeněk Pospěch has been ruled out of the Czech Republic's UEFA EURO 2008™ curtain-raiser against co-hosts Switzerland in Basel on Saturday.

Zdeněk Pospěch has been ruled out of the Czech Republic's UEFA EURO 2008™ curtain-raiser with co-hosts Switzerland on Saturday.

Flu victim
The 29-year-old FC København right-back is suffering from flu and will remain at their training base in Austria when the rest of the squad heads to Basel on Friday ahead of the opening game of the tournament. Pospěch started the Czech Republic's final warm-up game against Scotland last Friday but had been expected to make way for Zdeněk Grygera against the hosts at St. Jakob-Park.
