Hamstring swelling
Coach Fatih Terim revealed the news on the eve of the vital Group A encounter with co-hosts Switzerland on Wednesday, with both teams going into the match without a point. Midfielder Emre played in the opening 2-0 defeat by Portugal but felt pain in his leg on Monday and a scan earlier today in Basel showed a build-up of fluid. The problem definitely rules the 27-year-old out of the Switzerland game and most likely out of Sunday's fixture against the Czech Republic in Geneva too.

Terim said: "He suffered a slight muscle injury in his hamstring and this morning he was not feeling well. We sent him for an MRI scan in Basel and it revealed a swelling of about three to four centimetres and he will not play tomorrow. We are not happy, but there is nothing we can do about it and I don't know if he will play in the next match. The medical team don't think so but they will try."
