The balloon, made in the shape of the UEFA European Championship trophy, has travelled the length and breadth of Austria and Switzerland in its role accompanying the tournament's travelling roadshow, the EURO Experience Tour. Launched in Basel on 28 January, the vessel – measuring 34.5m in length by 16.5m in diameter – was filled and then released from the cricket pitch adjacent to Vienna's Ernst-Happel-Stadion. It remained harnessed, ten metres above the ground, for 45 minutes before kick-off in the Austrian capital.
