1 Anatoli Ilyin scored the first UEFA European Championship goal four minutes into the Soviet Union's 3-1 first-leg defeat of Hungary in the last 16 in Moscow on 28 September 1958.
2 Number of hat-tricks scored by Northern Ireland striker David Healy as part of his record total of 13 goals in 2008 qualifying.
5 Estonia beat the Faroe Islands 5-0 in Tallinn in the first UEFA EURO 2000 qualifier on 4 June 1998. The nations will meet again in the same city in the opening 2012 preliminary on 11 August.
10 Germany's appearance at UEFA EURO 2008 was their 10th qualification in a row, making the sole three-time champions the first nation to reach double figures.

13 Germany's 13-0 triumph in San Marino in 2008 qualifying was the biggest winning margin in the competition's history, beating the 12-1 victory against Malta that took Spain to the 1984 finals.
18 Including qualifying, Spain, Germany and Portugal all played 18 games in UEFA EURO 2008, the longest campaigns to date. That could be equalled in 2012 if a team from one of the six-team qualifying groups progress via the play-offs and reach the final.
20 Hakan Şükür's record number of EURO qualifying goals, one ahead of Jon Dahl Tomasson. Both share the overall record of 22 including final tournaments.
