Croatian midfielder Gabrić injured in car crash

Trabzonspor AŞ midfielder and Croatian international Drago Gabrić is in a serious condition in hospital after sustaining head injuries in a car accident near Split on Monday evening.

Trabzonspor AŞ midfielder Drago Gabrić is in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a car accident near Split on Monday evening.

The Croatian international, who spent the 2010/11 season on loan at MKE Ankaragücü, was driving when his vehicle veered off the road. The 24-year-old is in a coma and also has a fractured skull. Another passenger who was also in the car at the time walked away from the accident with minor injuries.

Gabrić, who has made five appearances for Croatia and was included in Slaven Bilić's squad for their forthcoming UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying match against Georgia in Split, is the son of former HNK Hajduk Split goalkeeper Tonći Gabrić.
