UEFA EURO 2012 ticket resale platform opens on UEFA.com

Unused tickets can be re-sold at face value on first-come first-served basis

063 - Unused tickets can be re-sold at face value on first-come first-served basis

UEFA today launched the official UEFA EURO 2012 ticket resale platform to allow customers that cannot use anymore tickets that they won in the lottery to re-sell them at face value.

It is the unique and only authorised place for UEFA EURO 2012 tickets to be sold. There are no other websites or companies allowed to sell any tickets. Fans should therefore not be tempted to buy tickets from other sources - often at inflated prices - as such tickets simply do not exist in most cases or will be cancelled by UEFA for a breach of the ticketing terms and conditions.

The ticket resale platform will not provide the possibility to exchange tickets, but only to sell tickets that cannot be used. The seller and the buyer will not be in direct contact with each other, as UEFA will act as the intermediary via the ticketing platform.

Fans who have already registered can use their account to buy tickets through this platform, and it is also still now possible to create a new account on UEFA.com

The process is user-friendly and customers just need to log in to the ticket portal and mark the tickets they want to sell to have them appear on offer in the "Buy Tickets" section of UEFA.com. If there is no option shown to buy tickets, it means that there are currently no offers being made. Applicants are in this case invited to come back at a later point.

A credit card will be mandatory, both for selling or buying tickets, as immediate feedback on the success of payment is required. Customers who had paid for their tickets by bank transfer will nevertheless be able to sell tickets, but they must provide credit card details to be able to put such tickets on offer.

The ticket resale platform will operate until 1 March 2012, date after which it will not be possible anymore to re-sell unused tickets.

In addition to the ticket resale platform, supporters of the participating associations will have the opportunity to apply for tickets reserved for their respective team via UEFA.com at a later stage, once the final draw has taken place in December 2011 and thus the match schedule has been finalised.

Further details concerning sales to fans of the qualified associations will be available in autumn 2011.
