Allen Bula has been dismissed as coach of the Gibraltar national team, with an official statement explaining that "it is not a decision that has been reached lightly or hastily".

The 50-year-old guided Gibraltar through their first games following their admission to UEFA, but the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) has decided to change coach, explaining: "After a thorough and careful investigation, into internal matters, the Gibraltar FA has come to the decision that an immediate change was appropriate. The Gibraltar FA would like thank Allen Bula for all the work he has done in his time as manager of the Gibraltar national team and take this opportunity to wish him all the success in the future."

Gibraltar coach since 2009, Bula has overseen nine official games, with the record W1 D2 L6. That lone win was a 1-0 defeat of Malta in Faro, Portugal, in June 2014. The change of coach comes just a few weeks after GFA president Desmond Reoch stepped down. Gibraltar take on Scotland in their next UEFA EURO 2016 qualifier on 29 March.
