Danes undone in Copenhagen

Denmark 0-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina Sergei Barbarez and Elvir Baljic earned the visitors a shock win.

Bosnia-Herzegovina moved back into contention in EURO 2004™ qualifying Group 2 on Wednesday with a stunning 2-0 victory over Denmark in front of 30,845 fans at the Parken stadium in Copenhagen.

Double strike
Goals from Sergei Barbarez and Elvir Baljic mid-way through the first half knocked Denmark out of their stride and proved enough for the visiting side to pick up their second win of the campaign following their 2-0 defeat of Luxembourg on Saturday.

Barbarez opener
Barbarez, who also scored against Luxembourg, put Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 up on 23 minutes, before Galatasaray SK player Baljic struck to double his side's advantage on 29 minutes.

Tight at the top
Denmark had been looking to consolidate top spot in the group after beating Romania 5-2 in Bucharest on Saturday, but victory has now taken Bosnia-Herzegovina level on points with Romania and to within a point of Denmark.

Coach despondent
Danish coach Morten Olsen was downbeat after his team's disappointing performance, accepting the responsibility. "I take this defeat on my shoulders," Olsen said. "I didn't hit the right lineup in the first place."
