πΊοΈ Getting around Athens
By public transport βοΈ
The transport operator for Athens (OASA S.A.) proactively makes services more inclusive and have outlined access instructions for metro lines, trams, trolleybuses, and buses.
Tips for using the Metro π‘
Metro line 1: Board / disembark using the first door of the first car. Please note that Omonia & Monastiraki stations in the city centre have large gaps between the platform and trains, so you may need to ask for a movable ramp and assistance.
Metro lines 2 & 3: Board / disembark in the first or last car. This will be relevant for those taking the metro line 3 from the airport to Syntagma in the city centre.
If you require assistance, please seek the help of station staff who can support with boarding and your destination station to continue the support. Most stations have tactile paving inside the station.
All metro stations have toilets free for disabled people. Toilets are locked so you will need to notify station staff if you wish to use the facilities.
