The UEFA Europa League Fan Festival will be in full swing in the Budapest city centre, kicking off on Tuesday 30 May 2023 in the lead up to the final. It is open to everyone so come and join the electric atmosphere, meet fellow fans and get in the festive football spirit! ⚽

The Fan Festival will have a packed programme in store for you, but keep in mind there will be no match screening in Heroes’ Square.
This year the Fan Festival will be taking place at Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere) in the heart of Budapest. Here’s all the details:

Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere) is undoubtedly one of the most iconic spots in all of Budapest. It has the impressive Millennial Monument at the centre and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2002. It’s also the largest square in the city and is surrounded by other key landmarks including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Kunsthalle and City Park.

🚌 Getting to the Fan Festival
The journey from the airport takes about one hour. Here’s a look at how to best get to Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere):
1) If you arrive at BUD airport, purchase a ticket for the 100E towards the city centre. Check out our travel page for all the details.
2) Get off at stop Deák Ferenc tér and walk about 35 minutes to Heroes’ Square or take the metro line M1 to Hősök tere for seven stops to the Fan Festival.
🏟️ Getting to the stadium
Travelling from Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere) to Puskás Aréna is best on foot. The route from Heroes’ Square to the stadium is 2.5 km and takes about 30 minutes.
🏆 Giant Trophy - Not one, but two!
Do you want to take a selfie with an oversized replica of the UEFA Europa League trophy? You can find a Giant Trophy at two different locations:
You will find the first Giant Trophy located in the heart of the city, St. Stephen’s Square. The square is home to St. Stephen’s Basilica, regarded as one of the most important churches in the country and with a neoclassical façade that’s the perfect backdrop for selfies and photos. You will also find friendly staff and volunteers on hand here to help with any questions you may have about the Fan Festival or if you’re exploring the city a day or two before the Final.

❓ Fan Festival FAQs
Just like the stadium, the Fan Festival will be cashless. Both credit and debit cards will be accepted, as will contactless payment.
Narcotics, pyrotechnics, glassware and explosives are prohibited, as are toxic or flammable substances, firearms, any piercing or cutting instruments, gas spray, metal chains longer than 50 cm and other objects or devices that are particularly dangerous for public safety. Please note that umbrellas and drones are also not allowed within the Fan Festival area.
The Fan Festival in Heroes’ Square is an open space at floor level and therefore is accessible to wheelchair users. Check out our Accessibility page for more info.
