🗺️ Getting to Istanbul
Citizens of EU or Schengen member states can enter Türkiye with a passport or for certain countries, their national identity card. Nationals of other countries must enter Türkiye with a passport and should check the full entry requirements before travelling.
IST Airport is to the north of the city, approx. 54km from the city centre.
Getting to the city centre
- Free airport shuttles to the city centre will operate on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 May.
- Alternatively, take M11 to Gayrettepe, then change onto M2 for Taksim, Yenikapi and other connections.
⚠️ If arriving by commercial flight on matchday, you should plan to land no later than 15:00 local time. Travel times within the city can be longer than expected, so plan ahead to ensure you don’t miss kick-off.
SAW Airport is located southeast of the city centre, approx. 35 km from the city centre.

🧭 Travelling around the city
Istanbul has an extensive public transport network comprising of metros, trams, buses and ferries. Get an Istanbulkart or use your own contactless payment method to pay for public transportation. 🆓 Free matchday travel for ticket holders
Free travel will be available across the entire Istanbul public transport network.
Ticket holders will be requested to show their mobile match ticket to public transport staff at the entry points. Validity period: 00:00 Wednesday 20 May to 06:00 Thursday 21 May.
🏟️ Getting to the stadium
⚠️ Stadium gates open at 19:00 local time for a 22:00 kick-off. Additional security and ticket checks will be in place around the stadium. Arrive from 3 hours before kick-off.
✅ The best way to travel to the stadium is by public transport before completing your journey on foot. You must enter the stadium via the entrance that matches the colour of your mobile ticket.
The recommended routes are:
1️⃣ Take the metro to Taksim (M2) and walk to the stadium (approx. 10 mins). 🚇
2️⃣ Board the special matchday ferry service operating between Eminönü, Kabataş (for the stadium) and Beşiktaş. Complete the remainder of the journey on foot. 🚢
3️⃣ Use T1 to Kabataş. However, this service will be extremely busy on matchday.
⛔ It is not advised to travel to the stadium in a taxi or private vehicle on matchday. There will be considerable traffic restrictions in place in the vicinity of the stadium. No private parking will be available nearby.

👋 Post match
If the match concludes in 90 minutes, the post-match ceremony and accompanying celebrations should finish by 00:30.
If the match goes to extra time or penalties, expect the action on the pitch to continue until around 01:15.
