AIK aim to kick-start campaign against PSV

A run of one win in their last six European home matches does not bode well for Group F strugglers AIK as they prepare to host PSV Eindhoven on matchday four.

AIK will need to arrest a disappointing run of home form in European competition if they are to revive their UEFA Europa League Group F fortunes against PSV Eindhoven.

• Kwame Karikari gave AIK an unexpected lead just after the hour when the teams went head to head a fortnight ago, but Jeremain Lens restored parity ten minutes from time.

Previous meetings
• The sides met for the first time on matchday three in what was AIK's maiden game against a Dutch club.

• PSV's five previous encounters with Swedish opponents have ended W2 D1 L2 (W1 D1 L1 at home – W1 D0 L1 in Sweden). In their most recent engagement before this season, they beat Helsingborgs IF home and away in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup round of 32.

Match background
• AIK's 3-0 defeat of KKS Lech Poznań in the third qualifying round is their only victory in the club's last six continental home matches.

• PSV are unbeaten in 22 European home games (W15 D7) since a 3-1 defeat by Liverpool FC in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League group stage.

• PSV have topped their group in all previous UEFA Europa League campaigns, remaining undefeated each time. The matchday one loss to FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk was their only one in 20 group games in the competition.

Team facts
• AIK's next goal will be their 50th in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League – this will be their 44th game in the two competitions. They are also three goals shy of their 100th in all UEFA competitions – this will be their 82nd official European match.

• PSV's 1-1 draw with AIK on matchday three marked their 300th game in UEFA club competition.

• PSV forward Jurgen Locadia turns 19 on the eve of the game.

• AIK midfielder Atakora Lalawélé will be 22 the day after the game.

• PSV boast Swedish talent in the form of forward Ola Toivonen, who played for Degerfors IF, Örgryte IS and Malmö FF before heading to the Netherlands. While at Malmö, he played alongside AIK defender Robert Åhman-Persson in 2008.

• PSV's Canada defender Atiba Hutchinson also played in Sweden, representing Östers IF and Helsingborgs IF.

• Dick Advocaat took over for a second time as PSV coach in the summer, having won a league title and a Dutch Cup in his first spell from 1995-98. Once a journeyman midfielder, 'The Little General' has since won two Scottish doubles with Rangers FC and a league title and a UEFA Cup with Zenit, as well as coaching the Dutch, South Korean, Belgian and Russian national teams.

• AIK coach since December 2010, Andreas Alm played for Stockholm rivals Hammarby IF before turning out for his current club as a striker from 2000-03. After hanging up his boots, Alm worked as a TV summariser and then joined the coaching staff at AIK, helping them to win a 2009 domestic double under Mikael Stahre, and assisted two further coaches before taking sole command.
