Zaugg to lead Young Boys

Peter Zaugg has taken charge of Nationalliga club and 2003/04 UEFA Cup participants BSC Young Boys.

Former Switzerland Under-21 coach Hans-Peter 'Bidu' Zaugg has taken charge of BSC Young Boys for the 2003/04 season, the Swiss Nationalliga club announced today.

Schällibaum departure
Zaugg, 50, who failed to keep FC Luzern in the top flight this season, replaces Marco Schällibaum as coach after his departure to Servette FC last month.

Gress assistant
Zaugg led Grasshopper-Club from 2000-2002 and was also assistant coach when Gilbert Gress was in charge of Switzerland's attempt to reach UEFA EURO 2000™. After Gress' departure Zaugg led his country as caretaker coach for one game, a friendly draw against Germany. Young Boys finished fourth in the Nationalliga and will play in the UEFA Cup next season.
