Udinese misery for Motta

Udinese Calcio's Italy Under-21 right-back Marco Motta will be out for the remainder of the season after damaging cruciate ligaments in his right knee.

Udinese Calcio's Italy Under-21 right-back Marco Motta will be out of action for the remainder of the season after damaging cruciate ligaments in his right knee, while Cesare Natali has also been sidelined.

Damaged knee
The 19-year-old has been forced to undergo surgery on his damaged knee, ruling him out of the remainder of Udinese's Serie A and UEFA Cup campaigns. The blow has also ended the former Atalanta BC youngster's hopes of competing in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals in Portugal in May.

Natali sidelined
The Bianconeri's defensive woes further deepened with news that Natali will be out of action until mid-March after twisting his left ankle during Sunday's Serie A game against AC Siena. The centre-back will miss Thursday's second leg of the UEFA Cup last-32 tie against RC Lens, which Udinese lead 3-0 after the first encounter.
